Leaf & Bean

A country walk in Broadway, turned accidental 3 hour hike, left us both knackered. Safe to say we were more than ready for a good lunch when we got back to the village.

We decided to visit Leaf & Bean Café, situated on The Green next to the entrance for the Cotswold Court shopping alley. This was the right choice.

The décor inside was café cute with lights hanging from the ceiling, chalkboard signs and a cosy feel. However, we sat outside to make the most of the lovely weather. They had an A-sign outside stating their coffee is ‘100% free range, gluten free, does yoga and loves kale’ which was receiving a good chuckle from passers by.

No items found.

The first thing you notice, is the drink menu has two pages worth of types of tea. I counted more than 40 varieties, so seriously living up to the ‘Leaf’ part of their name. We both felt in need for something a bit more calorific though, opting for an iced coffee and a hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream. It’s safe to say they live up to the ‘Bean’ part of their name too.

The amount of choice for drinks is what sets Leaf & Bean apart from the competition, planting firmly into the Cotswold Eats 'hall of fame' for drinks places. But it doesn't stop there, the food is just as good.

They have many specials available, but we ordered two sandwiches off the main menu. I opted for a classic BLT, Sophie going for Goats Cheese, Sundried Tomato & Pesto.

I can safely say the BLT was one of the best I’ve ever had, which is extra impressive as it’s my usual go-to sandwich. Delicious back bacon, still warm and bursting with flavour, accompanied by quality lettuce, tomato and mayo.

Sophie greatly enjoyed her veggie sandwich too, even if it was probably the smelliest option available! Good vegetarian options often smell pretty big.

I'd wholeheartedly recommend Leaf & Bean to anyone visiting Broadway, whether you just want to stop for drink, or indulge in a full lunch after a long walk.
